I remember seeing it at the theater once when I went to visit my father's hometown with my family when I was young.

A Joyous Night with the Moon is a story in which a living person who has stumbled into the world of ghosts must find their way home.
It may have been a little too frightening for a child.
However…the real highlight of this opera is its realism!
Ghosts are mysterious beings, shrouded in a veil of intrigue…
Yet the writer managed to interview 999 ghosts, and wrote 999 books about those ghosts.
Novels, dramas, poems… The forms of expression are countless, but each and every one of them get close to the reality of ghosts!

I'm not an expert, really, but I do rather enjoy going to the theater to watch a play or two.
The protagonist of A Joyous Night with the Moon presents the Land of Ghosts like this…
The large moon stole my attention so much that I could sense only moonlight and darkness.
In a world devoid of color, I caught sight of a large castle resting in the middle of the thick fog.
Around that castle were countless bats flapping away. But not a single sound of their motion reached my ears.
Even after losing their lives, the only fate that awaited them was to continue their futile wandering. In this land of ghosts…
