Happy Beans Day? What the heck is that?
|
1: A day for beans to be happy?
|
2: The school's traditional event?

Yuu, you don't know what Happy Beans Day is?

It seems we have an ignorant puppy. It can't be helped. Master Crewel will teach you.
Educating puppies is my job, after all.
Happy Beans Day is a traditional event in Twisted Wonderland that takes place in February.
Long ago in this land, there was a place called the Valley of Happiness.
It was called "Happiness" for a reason. It was abundant in nature. and the land was fertile.
And there was a magic harp that sang with a beautiful voice.

The magic harp's song is said to have brought happiness to the people, animals, and even the plants living in the valley.
But, envious of this, a giant monster came to the valley and stole the magic harp.
Soon after, the trees withered and the people starved.
Then, a farmer came across some magic beans.

Those magic beans were called happy beans!
The beanstalk that grew from the happy beans reached the monster's dwelling in the sky overnight.
Without delay, the farmer climbed the vines and admirably recovered the harp.
After returning to the ground, the farmer cut down the beanstalk, defeating the monster following him.
And so, the magic harp's song and the abundant nature returned to the Valley of Happiness - so the story goes.
Take back that which was taken. It's an anecdote about striking back twice as hard when you've been hit.

Makes sense. I get it now.

And that's where the custom of the Farmer throwing beans at the Monster to ward off evil comes from, right?
|
Crewel

Good boy! That's correct.
|
Choice 1: Seems kind of like Setsubun.
|
Choice 2: I guess other worlds have that custom too.

However, Happy Beans Day at Night Raven College is a bit different.
During Happy Beans Day at this school,
all students, regardless of dormitory or grade, are divided into two teams—Farmers and Monsters—and compete over the harp.
It's a school-wide sports competition!

Eh? Why again?

Crewel

Normally, the Monsters would just run around while being hit with beans as a way of getting rid of bad luck but...
... students playing the role of the Monster couldn't stand it anymore and fought back against the Farmers. As a result, the two sides got into a huge brawl.
|
Choice 1: Sounds like Night Raven College students alright.
|
Choice 2: Such low tolerance...
|
Crewel

If they are going to brawl, may as well turn the event into a face-off for physical training.
And that's how Night Raven College's Happy Beans Day tradition was born.
That's all for the gratuitous special lecture from your Master Crewel.
Next. Trappola. Spade. Yuu. Draw from the lottery.
