Episode of Octavinelle/Chapter 13

The thirteenth chapter of Disney Twisted Wonderland The Comic -Episode of Octavinelle was published along with one chapter from Twiste 4-Koma in Monthly G Fantasy November 2024 issue on October 18th, 2024. This chapter covers the first part of "Reduced to Naught" (Episode 3 Chapter 33) from the game.

Summary

Azul has started a rampage by forcefully stealing students' magic and talent without their contact inside and outside of the dorm. Leona and Ruggie escape via the teleport bubble as Yuuta, Ace, Deuce, Grim, Jack, and the Leech twins arrive. Suddenly, blot starts to corrupt Azul further as his overblot gains more control over him.

Leona and Ruggie run away from Azul as he summons blot tentacles to steal magic from anyone nearby. They manage to evade them, causing one of the Octavinelle dorm members to get caught instead, his magic being taken from him and transferred to Azul. He embraces his newfound power and admires the unconscious boys lightning magic. He shoots it at the duo and Leona grabs Ruggie and resumes running, and together they leap into one of the bubbles to transport them out of the dorm. Azul laughs as he approaches the edge, refusing to let them escape. He gets into one of them and uses the tentacles to grab magic from the other boys within the bubbles surrounding them. Leona deduces that the golden contract is meant to keep Azul's magic in check by selectively choosing one ability to take from someone. But without that keeping him in line, he can steal all of it. High level forbidden magic like this will exceed blot tolerance very quickly.

Just then, the Leech Twins appear in one of the bubbles to find black substance around Azul. They compare it to ink and Jade points out that this could be dangerous. At this rate, Azul's going to overblot. They are joined by the others, who are shocked to witness the chaos unfolding around them. Grim quickly yells at Leona and accuses him of bullying Azul, until Leona reminds him that it was their plan. Yuuta admits it is their fault- but he never thought it would turn out like this. Jade and Floyd call out to Azul and he expresses relief seeing them. He explains what happened and pleads with them to give to him their power. The twins manage to dodge the tentacles that he summons and try to snap him out of it by trying to remind him of what will happen if he keeps it up. Azul refuses, he doesn't want to return to what he was before. Yuuta hears this and becomes curious as Floyd remarks that this Azul is lame compared to the other one. Azul snaps out of his craze momentarily, then suddenly becomes enraged and blot begins to leak from his eyes and nose.

No matter what he does, he'll always remain the slow, inept octopus he used to be. So in order for the sake of improving himself, he will take away everyone's beauty and talents for himself. Azul unleashes a large blast of blot that summons several more tentacles that attack every student within the vicinity. He laughs as all of their power comes to him, and the twins and Leona prepare to attack if necessary. Just then a cauldron comes flying past them and nearly hits Azul. Jack, Deuce, Grim and Ace tell him off for not fighting with his own power. Especially after what he's done to them. Leona makes a remark that Ace, Deuce and Grim are just reaping what they sow. Yuuta agrees, but even then they need to stop him from going berserk. The three groups come together to surround Azul as more blot begins to drip, pooling beneath him. He accuses them of picking on him. The only thing he can have trust in are his contracts. Nothing else. He slowly succumbs to overblot as the Leech Twins scream out his name.

Differences Between Manga and Game

• A new scene adds the beginning of Azul's rampage showing Leona and Ruggie escaping the dorm before Azul can steal their magic.
• The other effects of Azul's Unique Magic are fully shown besides using contracts to remove the victim's magic and talents.
  • He summons black blot octopus tentacles, which forcefully go inside the victims' mouths to snatch their magic and talents. It can also be used when the victims are inside of breathable bubbles underwater or anywhere Azul is close by.
• Azul first attacks Floyd and Jade instead of before he overblots.
• When Azul starts overusing his Unique Magic and attacks everyone in and out of the dorm, Jade, Floyd and Leona protect themselves with their defense spells. This scene wasn't present in the game.
• In the manga, Jade and Floyd worriedly call Azul's name as he is about to overblot. This doesn't occur in the game.

Trivia

• This is the first chapter to be featured as a bi-monthly rather than a monthly release chapter.
• There are some continuity errors within this chapter.
  • Throughout the chapter, Azul is seen in air bubble after leaving the Octavinelle dorm to drain every magic and talents from the inside and out of the dorm. However, towards the end of the chapter, Azul is seen out of his air bubble. Whether is the continuity error or Azul is capable of breathing underwater due to being a merfolk without transforming into his original form is unknown.

• When Azul starts forcefully stealing an unnamed student's lightning magic with his blot tentacles, a ball of light is taken out from their mouth like Ursula took Ariel's voice away in exchange for becoming a temporary human from "The Little Mermaid."
• Like Riddle, who was leaking blot from his head for overusing magic, Azul begins to leak blot. But it leaks from his eyes and nose for excessively stealing many student's magic.
