It's the middle of the night, and at the Ramshackle dorm Yuuka is having another vision from The Lion King. This time, she witnesses Scar announce his evil plan to become the new King by killing both his brother and nephew. Yuuka wonders why it is that Scar is so desperate to become the King.

The next morning, she wakes up and thinks about her dream when Grim comes to greet her, and reminds her that they need to get going to breakfast.

Later, Yuuka and Grim walk along Main Street when Grim asks her what she's been doing at night. Yuuka explains how she met a guy with horns, and Grim comes up with a nickname based on them for him. Yuuka doesn't say it, but she thinks it sounds cute. They are greeted by Riddle and Cater. Riddle notices Yuuka’s tie is a bit crooked so he decides to fix it. Following the rules begins with one attire after all. Yuuka politely thanks Riddle, as she isn't used to things like this, and she asks them about Ace and Deuce. They explain that right now the guys are in the middle of feeding the flamingo while wearing pink, It's rule 249. Yuuka and Grim curiously imagine Ace and Deuce in pink attire until Riddle changes the subject, suggesting they focus on their main objective. Another student got injured yesterday evening. Cater checked on his smartphone on the eyewitness report and reveals the victim was a second year from Scarabia: Jamil Viper. The cause was a mishap in the kitchen. Riddle decides they should go to the cafeteria to meet with him during breakfast.

There, the four meet Jamil and the Scarabia dorm leader, Kalim Al-Asim. Grim quickly asks Jamil about his injury, which makes him confused. Just then, Kalim recognizes Grim as the one who set his butt on fire during the ceremony. Displeased by Grim’s behavior, Riddle advises him to refine his tone for instances like these, then he politely apologizes to them on his behalf. Kalim cheerfully comments that the Heartslabyul dorm leader and show-crashing tanuki make a fun combo. Grim gets offended and points out he isn't a tanuki, then he introduces himself, and Yuuka as his sidekick. After Kalim and Jamil properly introduce themselves to them, Yuuka explains they were tasked by the headmaster to do a little investigating for him. She asks Jamil to tell them what occurred yesterday. Jamil recalls that he was in the kitchen cooking some fried mutton rolls at Kalim's request. Kalim suddenly interrupts to compliment how amazing they are, then he invites the others to come to the dorm sometime and try them. Jamil reminds him to stick to the topic of conversation and Kalim expresses remorse. Jamil resumes by stating that he was chopping the ingredients when suddenly, his knife seemed to go crazy and sliced his hand on its own.

Kalim thinks that Jamil was probably exhausted from Spelldrive practice and compliments his knife skills. They're good enough to outshine their head chef. Jamil disagrees, he wasn't that tired to the point that he would do something careless like that. He remembers that for a brief period, his consciousness seemed to drift away. Yuuka thinks it might be vertigo or maybe a sudden drowsiness. Jamil says most would certainly think so, but he definitely felt that sensation before. He has a feeling it's probably someone's signature magic, one that gives them power over what the other person does. Before Kalim can tell the group what Jamil's signature spell is, Jamil quickly covers his mouth and reminds him that this isn't about him. Cater expresses that this would make sense, it would explain why everyone who got hurt just seemed to be acting carelessly. Riddle adds that if it were only for a short moment, the victim himself probably wouldn't be able to sense anything was amiss. He certainly didn't feel like someone was controlling him when he fell down the stairs. Cater compares the situation of finding the culprit to be "hard mode" and Grim suddenly recalls something. The other day when he was forced to trade sandwiches, it felt like his paws mowed on their own. He screams that he knows who the culprit is with that kind of spell, and it dons on Yuuka just then as well. The chapter ends with them revealing the culprit: Ruggie Bucchi.
