Jack is surprised to see a half-asleep Yuuta and Grim join Savanaclaw for morning Magift practice. While everyone stretches, Ruggie suggests they change things up a little. Leona isn't concerned that they will provide any sort of challenge and Jack tells them to give it their all. He doesn't want anyone to go easy on them for being first-years. Leona proceeds to soundly defeat the trio with little effort, and they keep going until Yuuta's about to keel over. He expresses how hard they're working to prepare for the next interdorm tournament, leading Ruggie to deduce that he's never heard of the bigger game that occurs once a year, every May. It's the "Interschoolastic competition", Night Raven College play against Royal Sword Academy. Yuuta is surprised to learn there are other magic schools. Ruggie points out that there's a few of them around, Night Raven and Royal Sword are the most well-known though. Grim asks what the school is like, and Leona describes it as "a school for pompous, delicate little princelings". It's beat Night Raven 99 years now. Ruggie is convinced that they won't win this time, and Leona explains how the team is composed of members from each dorm. As expected, the team struggles to get along. Last year a brawl broke out because they argued so much. Grim confidentially declares that he'll make the team, causing Leona to suggest that he starts coming up with a plan on how to beat his competition.
In the cafeteria the guys begin to eat breakfast when Leona asks Yuuta what caused him to make a deal with Azul. He laughs at him after being told and Ruggie points out how high in demand his study guides are. Jack theorizes that the way they're speaking implies they didn't make a contract with him, which surprises him because he figured Leona would take the easy way out of things. He hurriedly takes back what he said and Leona insults him, then asks who would make a contract with a swindler like him. He has done it a couple of times in the past when he had no other option, but there was always some obscene conditions. Azul isn't someone that one should turn to for help. He's a strong mage, and on top of that, the people who go to him don't realize they're at a disadvantage to begin with. Seeing how worried Yuuta is causes Leona to ask what the terms of his contract was. After being told that he has three days to steal a picture from the Atlantica Memorial Museum, Ruggie is quick to offer them his condolences. Yuuta starts to stress until Leona snaps him out of it by suggesting that they hurry up and get going. He agrees, and together with Grim and Jack they rush out of the cafeteria to grab Ace and Deuce and get going. Once they're gone, Ruggie calls Leona nasty. Leona smirks before claiming not to know what he's talking about.
The five arrive at the hall of mirrors with the potion that will let them breathe underwater. They quickly drink the -foul tasting- potion and realize they're struggling to breath. They rush through the mirror and are transported into the Coral Sea. Grim angrily complains, only to stop realizing that he can talk underwater fine. It doesn't hurt either. The group is amazed that they're okay and they take in their beautiful underwater surroundings. Ace remarks that if Cater could see it he'd probably take pictures of everything. Jack reminds them of their mission and the guys begin to swim forward, until they spot the Museum up ahead. They stop for a moment to observe the mermaids heading towards it, surprised that there really are people who live beneath the sea. They resume until they hear a pair of familiar, spine-chilling voices. Jade and Floyd Leech appear to prevent them from going any further and the group is shocked to see that they look so strange. The twins explain that this is their true forms, they are mermaids. Yuuta points out that at school they have legs, causing them to point out that they use a potion to change into their land forms. They couldn't walk on their tail-fins. Ace is surprised that they're so long, and Deuce guesses that they're some kind of sea snake. Floyd states they are moray eels. Losing his patience, Grim asks them why they are there. The brothers smirk and reveal that they are there to get in their way. After all, they couldn't expect that it would be this easy to get the photo. Yuuta is dismayed, realizing the situation they are now in.
