Episode of Heartslabyul/Chapter 21

The twenty-first chapter and the final chapter of Disney Twisted Wonderland The Comic -Episode of Heartslabyul- was published in Monthly G Fantasy November 2022 issue on October 18th, 2022.

This chapter covers the second half of "Feeling Reconciled", "Five Second Rule", and "Finale for Heartslabyul" (Episode 1 Chapter 26-28) from the game.

Summary

Riddle tells the others his true feelings, to eat strawberry tarts and make friends. He leaves with Trey and Crowley for the infirmary and Grim discovers another tasty crystal blot. A few days later, Riddle fully recovered and celebrated the Unbirthday party at his dorm along with Yuuken and Grim.

Riddle woke up from hearing Trey calling his name with everyone at his side, expressing relief as he reacts with confusion. Riddle is unable to recall his actions when he overblotted, and he attempts to remember as Crowley voices how glad he is that Riddle came to his senses. Trey tells him not to worry about it for now, he should focus on resting. Ace criticizes Trey for coddling Riddle again, and he informs him of what happened and what made him overblot. As Deuce, Grim and Cater express relief over surviving that ordeal, Riddle decides to tell them how he truly feels. He admits that he really wanted to eat the mont blanc tart they made, and he doesn't mind if the roses are white, or if the flamingos are pink, and when he drinks tea he prefers honey with it to sugar cubes. He also likes milk tea more than lemon iced tea. He wants to chat with everyone after they eat, and wanted to play so much with Trey and Chenya.

Riddle begins to cry and everyone is surprised. Ace refuses to lighten up on him though, and angrily tells him that crying won't make him forgive him. Deuce is annoyed by this and reminds Ace to be tactful. Trey apologizes to Riddle for knowing he was suffering all this time, and turning a blind eye to it. His way of doing things is wrong, and he owes everyone a proper apology. Riddle tearfully apologizes to everyone for his actions, and they're willing to forgive him with the exception of Ace. He remains stubborn and points out how much Riddle humiliated him. Grim remarks that Ace holds a grudge harder than he does. Ace demands Riddle do a repeat of the Unbirthday party, but this time he must make the tart, and he can't have any help from Trey. Then he might forgive him.

Yukken plainly asks Ace if this is fine for him not to ask for help, and he reminds Ace reminds him that he had plenty of people helping him. Ace tells him to shut up, then points to Riddle to ask if he understands him. Riddle replies that he does, and Crowley expresses relief while commenting that a compromise is a beautiful thing and the matter is settled. Cater realizes they need to start cleaning up, the picturesque garden they tortured themselves over is in ruins. Trey volunteer to help out, but he tells Trey to take Riddle to the nurses office to get him medical attention.

Once they leave, Grim's stomach growls and he complains that he is starving from all of the fighting. He sniffs the air to detect a similar scent and locates another black stone, like the one he found at the Dwarf's mines. Yuuken warns Grim not to eat it this time, but he refuses to listen- he already ate it. Grim's eyes beam with delight, describing its flavor as deeply rich, with sweet notes and a hint of a bitter aftertaste. He comments that it tasted different from the one he had last time. Yuuken, Ace and Deuce criticize Grim's strange eating habits, and while watching them Cater quietly thanks them for everything. They didn't quite hear him though, and he changes his mind, deciding not to say anything.

A few days later when Riddle had time to recover from his overblot, the Heartslabyul dorm holds another Un-birthday party event. The members no longer fear nor hate Riddle, and show respect towards him. They are also glad he made a full recovery. Riddle repeats himself at the start of the un-birthday from the other day, then decides that the dormouse in the teapot is fine without putting a jam on it. Trey advises Riddle that he could spread jam on his scones instead of on the mouse, and suggests that he try to lover the bar "It'd be fine this way" rather than "it absolutely has to be this way." Riddle agrees, and while Ace, Deuce, Cater and Grim are shown having a good time, he suddenly notices that some of the roses are not red. The dorm members begin to freak out because they forgot to pain some of them. Cater wonders who was in charge of the painting of roses and told them to make sure to get every one. Trey tries to calm Riddle, but instead of taking out his anger on them like before, Riddle uses his magic to paint all of the remaining roses red. He happily tells them that one or two misses roses no longer warrant such harsh punishment. Cater, Deuce and Ace react with relief, realizing that he really has changed.

Everyone celebrates a merry Un-birthday party that began and Riddle reveals the tart he made, as promised. They try it out, only to react with disgust over how salty it tastes. When Ace asks Riddle what ingredient he put in the tart while trying to get the taste of salt out of his mouth, Riddle explains that he followed the recipe exactly. Then he recalls adding oyster sauce. Deuce is horrified as he recalls Trey joking about that when they made their tart, and they determine that Riddle took him seriously and added it in. Ace angrily yells at Riddle over it and Riddle feels embarrassed realizing he had a trick played on him. Trey laughs, having not expected anyone to take the classic oyster joke seriously. Riddle begins to laugh with him, and the others attempt to get used to the flavor when Trey casually remarks on Cater's disliking of sweets. Cater is surprised he noticed, until Trey explains how Cater often asks him to use his unique magic to change the flavor when eating sweets. He promises to keep it a secret though, and for the next Un-birthday party he will bake a quiche. Cater thanks him before telling him to make sure it's as photogenic as his cakes.

Suddenly, Chenya appears out of nowhere and starts to eat some tarts. Riddle is surprised to see him and asks Chenya what he is doing there. Chenya replies that he came to celebrate someone's un-birthday, while playfully snatching Riddle's crown from behind. Riddle informs him that the Un-birthday is a Heartslabyul dorm tradition and it doesn't concern him. When Grim wonders which dorm Chenya belongs to, Trey reveals Chenya does not attend Night Raven College, he's a student of Night Raven College's rival school, Royal Sword Academy. Yuuken and Grim are surprised to learn that there are other mage schools when suddenly, some Heartslabyul dorm members become furious realizing a Royal Sword Academy student is here. Before Chenya uses his Unique Magic to make a quick escape from Heartslabyul's wrath, he returns Riddle's crown to him, since he got to have some tart. A few students try to go after him and Riddle explains that a good deal of their students regard Royal Sword Academy as the enemy. Trey points out that this is because of their tendency to lose to them, for the past one-hundred years. Cater interrupts just then to say that they should put the dorm and glory aside, and focus on celebrating today and the joy of the party.

Riddle decides to speak to Yuuken, no longer feeling animosity towards him. He remarks to Yuuken that every since he enrolled here, he's been causing quite the commotion. It's disgraceful. Yuuken explains he wasn't trying to cause problems, leading Riddle to continue as he realizes that Yuuken was the one who saved him. Yuuken tells him that he didn't do anything special, he was the one who got up and chose to keep going. He still hasn't given up on finding a way to get back to his original world and he's going to press on and make every effort. Riddle accepts this, and Yuuken as his equal, and decides to invite him to another party sometime. They re-introduce themselves to each other, as friends on good terms. Just then, Grim steals one of the tarts and runs off while Ace and Deuce chase after him.

The final chapter ends with everyone having a good time at the Un-birthday party while Chenya continues to watch them from afar. Grim shouts "Happy Un-birthday" in a cheerful tone.

Differences Between Manga and Game

• Ace and Deuce witness Grim eating a black stone for the first time since they weren't able to witness it due to being forcefully dragged by their upperclassmen.
• The scene adds Yuuken's comment after tasting Riddle's salty tart, he says it tastes like mitarashi (rice dumplings).
• Chenya playfully steals Riddle's dorm crown before returning it after it was revealed that he attends Royal Sword Academy.
• The ending of the chapter has been extended.
  • Riddle and Yuuken decide to start over by reintroducing themselves and become friendly with each other.

• During the flashback, Riddle was wearing the same Apprentice Chef outfit as his SR card from the event NRC Master Chef ~Bliss of Meat~
