Episode of Octavinelle/Chapter 9

The ninth chapter of Disney Twisted Wonderland The Comic -Episode of Octavinelle was published along with two chapters from Twiste 4-Koma in Monthly G Fantasy May 2024 issue on April 18th, 2024.. This chapter covers "Group Infiltration", Jolting Electrification", A Minor Oversight", and "Rendezous at Midnight" (Episode 3 Chapter 21-24) from the game.

Summary

Yuuta, Grim, Ace, Deuce, Grim and Jack proceed with an alternative plan by stealing Azul's contracts in his vault. They enter the Mostro Lounge VIP room but are quickly forced to hide from Azul, who came to check the contracts. He takes off and the guys find one left out, but they are electrocuted when they try to touch it. Azul reappears with the Leech twins and the group make a hasty retreat. Later, Yuuta returns to Ramshackle on a whim trying to figure things out when he encounters a similar face along the way.

Yuuta, Jack and Grim meet up with Ace and Deuce for lunch and update them on their discussion with Leona the day before. They find it underhanded, until Jack clarifies that Azul never planned on playing fair when Yuuta signed the contract. Yuuta believes that it is a strategy worth trying. The guys recall how scary it was being chased by the brothers under the sea, and this causes Ace to wonder if Azul is a mermaid too. Jack recalls that Leona calls Azul a "Cephalopunk" and Deuce and Grim becomes anxious picturing how terrifying that confrontation would be beneath the water. Jack realizes that this is why Leona said they should find a way to fight on land. Yuuta suggests that they start with locating the contracts. Jack points out that the VIP room had a suspicious vault in it.

The group decide to make their move after Deuce mentions that nobody is likely to be around during lunch, since the lounge isn't open then. They head straight for the VIP room, but to their dismay they realize the vault is double locked. Before they can do anything, Jack hears footsteps in the hallway and tells the others to hide. He, Ace and Deuce hide together under the desk while Yuuta and Grim take shelter nearby. While squished together, the guys watch Azul steps inside and opens the vault to find piles of neatly stacked contracts. Azul begins to count them like one would money, surprising the guys greatly. Azul puts the contracts back and takes off after a few minutes, and the guys quickly exit their hiding spots. As they breath a sigh of relief Jack spots a contract he left laying on the desk. Ace reaches out for it and a burst of lightning magic zaps the entire group, sending them to the floor.

Suddenly, laughter fills the room and they realize that Azul and the Leech Twins are there. Azul points out that it was hard to miss Jack's fluffy tail sticking out, and he picks the contract up while explaining that they are rigged to zap anyone who tries to touch it besides himself. Ace is shocked that he thought that far ahead, but Azul reminds him that he already told them that his contracts cannot be destroyed. Floyd continues to laugh at them while Jade tells him not to make fun of them, they tried their best with what little intelligence they have. Azul states that "naughty children who try to steal important treasures require proper punishment", and the trio become threatening. The group try to run away, only for Azul to zap them with magic again. Floyd states that for them to waste time here, they should be at the museum trying to get the photo. They only have until sunset tomorrow. The twins begin to advance and Ace desperately uses magic to summon a cauldron in an attempt to keep them away. Floyd uses "Bind the Heart" to keep it away from him. But it collides with the vault instead, damaging the door. He apologizes but Azul becomes irate and yells at him for his carelessness. He told him before not to do that, and Floyd's lack of care causes him to angrily aim his magic pen in his face while Jade tries to calm him down.

Seeing an opening, Yuuta, Grim, Ace, Deuce and Jack escape. Azul tells the brothers to chase after them but Floyd refuses because now he's bummed out. They begin to bicker until Azul realizes how worked up he's gotten. He forces himself to calm down and asks Jade to keep an eye on them in the mean time, and his brother. Jade agrees and the twins take off while turns his back and bites his lip with frustration. Blot drips into his magic pen.

In the hall of mirrors the group catch their breath. Ace is quick to blame Jack for them getting caught. They feel distraught realizing that they can't destroy the contracts, today felt like a waste. Jack suggests that they stop for the time being and they prepare to head to class, snapping Yuuta out of his thoughts after realizing he's distracted. As evening approaches, Yuuta returns to Ramshackle Dorm to observe it. They don't have much time left to complete his part of the deal. Suddenly, he sees light and Malleus Draconia appears. Yuuta addresses him by the nickname Grim came up with, which initially catches Malleus off-guard until he reminds him of their last meeting. Malleus didn't want to divulge his name, so he told him to think up one. Malleus finds the name amusing, and he agrees to let Yuuta call him that. He goes on to mention how rowdy the dorm has become as of late, and asks if there are more people residing there besides him and Grim. Yuuta explains what happened with Azul, and Malleus remarks that after tomorrow the dorm will become a new hot-spot for noisy students. He then points out the gargoyle sculptures on Ramshackle, expressing that they are the most impressive ones there. Yuuta realizes that he means the statues that resemble monsters, and hearing this causes Malleus to explain that they may appear to be monster-shaped sculptures. But they serve a purpose, they are actually a drain spout to keep water from dirtying the walls. They might look intimidating but they are devoted to the preservation of their home. There's a difference between how they look and how they are, what one sees with their eyes is the opposite of the truth. Yuuta should be willing to do everything in his power to protect his dorm.

Suddenly, Malleus disappears. Yuuta is surprised and he turns to observe the gargoyle sculpture once more, wondering what he was trying to tell him.

Differences Between Manga and Game

  • They also having a picnic during their break.
• The first years hide from Azul in the VIP room. The scene reveals where they are hiding. Ace, Deuce, and Jack hide under Azul's work desk, and Yuuta and Grim hide under the lounge table. In the game, all of them hide under Azul's work desk.
• Ace, Deuce, Jack, Yuuta, and Grim's skeletons were fully shown when electrocuted after touching one of the Azul's contracts. In the game, they were just electrocuted with shocked expressions.
  • In the game, they were electrocuted from touching the vault, but in the manga they were electrocuted from touching one of the contacts on his desk.
