The fifth chapter of Disney Twisted Wonderland The Comic -Episode of Heartslabyul- was published in Monthly G Fantasy August 2021 issue on July 18th, 2021.[1]

This chapter covers the second half of "An Endless Hunt", "A Lesson Learned" and the first part of "The Prologue Adjourned" (Prologue Chapters 18-20) from the game.

Summary

After Yuuken successful mine a magestone, Grim ate a black stone that came from the Overblot miner and doesn't experience any ill side effects. Meanwhile, Ace and Deuce return to Heartslabyul to face their punishment. Yuuken and Grim are officially enroll as one student by Crowley.

Yuuken and Grim went back to mine and found the magestone they can bring to the Headmaster. Before they can go, Grim attempt to snatch it from Yuuken, but fails since he is too taller from Grim to reach. Feeling down, Grim smell something delicious and follow the trail until he find a black stone that came from the Overblot miner. He proceed by eating it. After that, Grim describe the taste in delight in his inner thoughts. Yuuken comments about monstrous are omnivorous, but he's okay with Grim eating it as long as it doesn't hurt his stomach.

Meanwhile in the Heartslabyul dormitory, Ace and Deuce faces their punishment in court feeling confuse and ashamed for breaking one of the dorm rules. Riddle orders the entire Heartslabyul dorm students present and Cater reveals a cage filled with a bunch of hedgehogs. Riddle orders Ace and Deuce to singing the crocodile song to the bunches of hedgehogs. Ace unintentionally offend Riddle by questioning him about their punishment which greatly angers Riddle. Cater and Trey tells Ace and Deuce to stand up and sing if they want their collars off a while they glare at them. Ace and Deuce singing the crocodile song to the bunches of hedgehogs a while still confused about their punishment. After that, Riddle seems happy that Ace and Deuce follow rules and had learned their lesson for breaking the Queen of Hearts' rules, he decides to remove their collars. However, Riddle orders Ace and Deuce to write a 5,000-word essay for disobeyed the rules and he expects them to submit it by tomorrow evening. He gives Ace and Deuce a word of advice, they will do well to learn that swiftly if they don't wish to lose their head again, move forward, and upholds the Heartslabyul name.

Afterward, Yuuken and Grim deliver the magetone to Crowley and informs him about the faceless monster that came out of nowhere in Dwarf mines. Crowley was filled with overwhelming emotions about Yuuken and the others were able to work together. He decides to make Yuuken a beast tamer due to his ability to command students to work together. Crowley decides Ace and Deuce are no longer expel and grant Yuuken to attend Night Raven College as a student which makes Grim shocked. However, Crowley gave Yuuken one condition since he can't use magic, and no way for him to becoming a magician and attending lessons. Crowley reveals Yuuken and Grim will enroll at Night Raven College as one student which makes Grim surprised and overwhelmed. Yuuken pats Grim on the head and congrats him. Grim is filled excellent that he finally got accept. Crowley grants Grim his magic gem since due to him being a monster, he can't hold a magic pen and that's why he customize made it just for him. As Grim attempt to leave and try his magic, Yuuken grabs him and reminds him about what happened yesterday with the ceremony. Crowley asks Yuuken to keep an eye on Grim since he is still new to human society and supervise him to prevent further disturbance and Yuuken agreed with Crowley. The end of the chapter ends with Grim screaming in delight about his glorious days as a student are finally about to begin.

Differences Between Manga and Game

  • Grim attempts to steal the magestone from Yuuken which never occur in the game.
  • In the game, Ace and Deuce comment about Grim eating the black stone, but in the manga, Yuuken uses most of Ace and Deuce's lines based from "Tenacious Chase!" before and after Grim ate the black stone.
  • Grim describing the taste of the black stone is shown which never occur in the game.
  • Ace and Deuce's reaction after Grim ate the black stone is cut due to them forcibly dragged backed to their dorm from last chapter.
  • Crowley arrives at the Hall of Mirror with paperwork for Ace and Deuce's expulsion he was planning to give to Ace and Deuce was cut.
  • A new scene is added where Riddle precedes Ace and Deuce's punishment by having them singing to the bunch of hedgehog at court along with the other unnamed Heartlabyul members.
  • In the game, the Heartlabyul dorm members have card motifs on their face, but in the comic, they lack it.
  • Ace and Deuce are unaware of Yuuken and Grim having to officially enroll to Night Raven College as a single student due to them being forcefully drag back to their dorm from the previous chapter.
