This chapter starts with Yuuken, Ace, and Deuce investigating the abandoned small cottage to search for something useful they need to enter to Dwarf Mines. They encounter Grim again, who is willing to help them to find a magestone.

During their searches in the mines, they have no luck finding any magestones until they encounter an Overblot miner roaming inside the mines, guarding the magic stones. Deuce decides to face off with it to obtain the magestones. When Ace suggests to Deuce that they should run away and get expelled rather than fighting that monster, Deuce loses his temper and smashes his fist into the cave wall, refusing to give up. This leaves Ace and Grim frightened by Deuce's sudden change in personality. Deuce tries to fight the Overblot monster on his own, but it is overwhelming, and he got slightly hurt from the rubble. Yuuken decides to save Deuce without noticing the Overblot miner's attack, so Ace is forced to save him with his magic. After Yuuken successfully saves Deuce from the piles of rubble, Deuce manages to find a magestone inside the cave walls, but he isn't able to obtain it in time. Somewhere in the caves, Yuuken suggests both Deuce and Ace work together to take out the monster, much of their dismay. Yuuken and Grim manage to convince them by reminding them how if they refuse to put their differences aside, they will get expelled on the first day of school.

Yuuken and Grim act as a distraction to lure the monster out of the Dwarf Mines. Ace and Grim combine their magic attacks on it and successfully deal damage to it. Deuce deals the final blow by summoning a giant cauldron on top of it. The three celebrate their victory, and Yuuken is glad that everything works out well. As Yuuken and the others are about the go back to the mines and get the magic stones, the Overblot miner rises, is still alive, as their magic attack wasn't enough to destroy it. The four try to escape from the monster still chasing them as its body starts to disappear. The Overblot miner pushes Ace and Deuce to the ground, preventing them from escaping. As the Overblot miner is about to kill them, Riddle destroys it with his fire magic and saves them. Deuce thanks his dorm leader for saving him and Ace; however, Riddle corrects him by saying that he didn't rescue them because they almost lost their lives as has no reason to support transgressors. Instead, Riddle saved them because they broke one of the Queen of Hearts' rules, and they must face their punishment. Riddle uses his Unique Magic to collar Ace and Deuce and orders Trey and Cater to take them back to their dorm. Deuce and Ace are seen being dragged to the ground by Trey and Cater out of the Dwarf Mines. Yuuken asks Riddle what he's planning to do with them, and he angrily says that this has nothing to do with Yuuken, and this is a Heartslabyul matter. Before Riddle leaves, he warns Yuuken that if he doesn't want to get beheaded, he should return to school soon. In Yuuken's inner thoughts, he describes Riddle as a "Crimson Tyrant" due to his strong anger and fierce personality.

Differences Between Manga and Game

Malleus Line.png WARNING! This section contains story spoilers. Read at your own risk.
  • The scene where the Miner ghosts chase Ace, Deuce, Grim, and Yuuken is cut.
  • In the game, the in-game battles only feature characters using magic, but in the comic, Deuce is able to fight without using magic.
    • Deuce receives minor injuries during his fight against the Overblot miner. In the game, he isn't injured.
  • Deuce displays his tough personality inside the Dwarf's Mines instead of the Silent Wood.
  • Ace, Deuce, and Grim fight the Overblot miner first instead of finding the magestone in the mines first.
  • Unlike in the game, the Overblot miner barely survived Ace, Grim, and Deuce's attack, and it almost kills Ace and Deuce.
    • At the same time, both Ace and Deuce get collared by Riddle and forcefully get dragged out of the Dwarf Mines by Cater and Trey, which wasn't feature in the game.
  • Riddle saves Ace and Deuce from being killed by the Overblot miner, which never happens in the game.
  • One of the Queen of Hearts' rules, rule 304, "On days that a hedgehog sneezes, all card soldiers must sing a song together," was never mention in the game.

Trivia
