Everyone reacts in horror towards Riddle's transformation, and he gives a crazed smile while happily taking in his overwhelming, newfound power. Trey attempts to reason with Riddle but his blot's essence prevents Trey from getting closer to him. This annoys Riddle under the belief he still intends on impeding him. Suddenly, something comes out from the pool of blot; Riddle's phantom that takes on the form of the Queen of Hearts. Trey and Crowley react in shock as Overblot Riddle declares he has no need for disobedience in his world. He is the law and order itself.
Grim asks Crowley about the phantom now behind Riddle and Crowley explains that it is a monster born from blot. When someone practices magic negative energy is known as "blot". It accumulates and is stored in their magic gems, but when there is too much magic the gem may react capacity and burst. The overflowing blot begins to corrupt its user and the mage loses control due to being overcome by negative energy. Their emotions and magic will destroy everything in their path. This condition is called "overblot". Grim and Deuce are still confused about the explanation until Cater gives them the short version: Riddle is in evil berserker mode. Trey warns them that if Riddle keeps unleashing all that energy, his life might be in danger.
Crowley advises them that they need to bring Riddle back to his senses before his magic runs dry. He prepares to leave while taking the remaining Heartslaybul students to safety, ordering Trey and Cater to let the other teachers and dorm leaders know. They need all the help they can get. Suddenly, Overblot Riddle starts to attack by commanding his phantom to split the ground in half. Crowley uses his magic to create a barrier to protect the students. Overblot Riddle declares whoever dares to defy him, he will have their heads.
