The chapter starts after Jack and Yuuta are thrown out of Mostro Lounge and forced to retreat to the Ramshackle dorm to regroup. Yuuta is worried about Grim and the others. Jack has seen Azul's contracts deflect everyone's attacks, which he guessed might be contract violations. His twin bodyguards are a problem too.
Yuuta prepares food for him and Jack, and Jack is surprised to learn he made it all. Yuuta happily explains that they can't get to work on the right strategy on an empty stomach. While eating, Jack and Yuuta recap the previous two chapters and determine Azul's plan. Yuuta mentions that Grim always gets bad marks, so he knew something wasn't right. Jack comments that there's no point using someone else's power to up their grades. Wasting an opportunity to show people what they can do that alone is idiotic. Crowley enters their conversation where he mentions that he could not stop Azul from pursuing his little "business venture" this year when Yuuta asks him what he means by the business. Crowley explains that Azul, like Riddle, is a competent student. He's already running a dorm in his second year, but there's quite a big problem. Jack asks him why he can't stop Azul since he's headmaster, and Crowley explains that there's no illegal activity in making study guides and sharing them. It's not as if they stole test questions or the answers. He created this well-polished study guide by studying questions from past tests that span back to 100 years ago. Jack is impressed that Azul made something like that. He guesses that the legitimacy itself is the problem, and Crowley confirms. As a teacher, he can hardly prohibit a student from crafting an exam study guide via honest work. Nor can he ban a student from their friend's study out of "kindness.", with Jack adding that if he did, it would be like telling the students "No studying" and "No helping out your buds."
According to Crowley, the same thing happened last year, but his study guides had a limited reputation so the commotion was much more contained. This year, however, rumors abounded that if one wished to score well on the exam, they should visit Mostro Lounge. Jack thinks the nasty caveat in the contract in the event of a breach stayed hush because of the binding NDA. Crowley also mentions that Azul has a steady stream of students lining up to accept his bargain this year. The test average across all subjects and years has jumped above 90. Yuuta was disappointed and commented that most of the students cheated. Jack and Yuuta realize the students who signed up with Azul last year never got their skills back. Crowley corrects them, Azul came by with an offer for him afterwards. He said that he would return the skills he took if he granted him permission to run the Mostro Lounge on campus. Crowley accepted the deal, explaining that with his proposal, he offered to contribute 10% of the proceeds to the school in such a mutually beneficial arrangement. He couldn't possibly turn that down. He asked Yuuta if he could persuade Azul to stop his scheme, which doesn't surprise Yuuta. Yuuta tries to back out of the request since there's no way he would listen to him; Crowley reminds him that Ramshackle dorm's food expenses have been mounting since he is low on cash. He is currently researching a way to return someone home, he has little to no time to address other problems. But he needn't worry about that since he is kind. Yuuta is forced to accept his request, and he and Jack decide the only thing they can do now is investigate Azul by following him around the school to get to know him.
The next day, Jack and Yuuta follow Azul everywhere, including the classes he went to, without being detected. So far, the learn that Azul is good at singing, animal linguistics, and brewing high-level potions. They follow him to the cafeteria and notice how picky he is when it comes to eating, but its so that he can make sure he eats a well-balanced meal. He doesn't get hungry and only eats a little. Jack thinks Azul's the perfect honor student.
Suddenly, Yuuta encounters Ace, Deuce and Grim, exhausted from working for Azul. Ace complains he was forced to clean Octavinelle's dorm, wait tables in the lounge, and go on grocery runs. He's working them into the ground. Deuce complains that he got called in at 6 am today. The three of them weren't happy to be forced to work there. Feeling bad for them, Yuuta invites them to eat the bento he made to help them reclaim their energy. They happily thank Yuuta for giving them food. Yuuta realizes he got to pick up the pace and do something before they up and keel over. The chapter ends with Yuuta and Jack re-encountering Jade and Floyd.
