Family

Jade and Floyd live with their grandmother and parents when not at Night Raven College.[1]

Childhood

The twins' parents taught them self-defense when they were little.[2]

While Jade and Floyd went to the same elementary school as Azul, they didn't develop an interest in him until middle school[3] after they came across him writing grimoires in an octopus pot. In middle school, the twins started hearing rumors of peers in their classes gaining things they wanted but losing their treasures, and Jade asked Azul if it was his doing as the rest of their peers weren't as skilled as magic as Azul was, which Azul confirmed to Jade and Floyd.[4]

Before entering middle school, a sturgeon challenged the twins to a fight, and Jade and Floyd bet for the sturgeon to give them some of their scales if they won, which they now wear as earrings.[5]

At Night Raven College

First Year

Jade, Floyd, and Azul were all sorted into Octavinelle by the Dark Mirror after joining Night Raven College.

Main Story (2nd year)

Jade became vice dorm leader of Octavinelle his second year with Azul as his dorm leader.

Jade created the Mountain Lovers Club and is currently the only member.[6] As part of his club activities he takes trips to the mountain and usually takes pictures and appreciate the wildlife of the mountains that he finds along the way.[7] Jade is particularly fascinated with the mushrooms he finds on the mountains, often bringing many back and cultivating them in the school's botanical garden. Neither Floyd nor Azul share Jade's fondness for mushroom which leads Jade to often have an excess of mushroom as Azul stopped selling mushroom dishes after 2 weeks due to being tired of the food, leading Jade to donate and later on sell his mushrooms to the school cafeteria where they get used in the mushroom risotto. Silver, who eats the mushroom risotto every day, commented to Lilia on how the days Jade's mushrooms were used by the school the quality of the mushrooms elevate the dish to a new level to Jade's delight.[8] Jade eventually enrolled into NRC's Master Chef course in order to use his mushrooms and share his mushroom dishes with others. When the ghost chef was busy helping Lilia, Jade took advantage of the lack of supervision to add a mushroom sauce to his tofu hamburger steak dish. When presented to his judge, Rook, the sauce caused his tongue to become numb over the various mushrooms. Despite this Rook and Lilia both praised Jade's enthusiasm and creativity, to the ghost chef's dismay.[9]

Prologue

While he did not directly intervene with Grim and Yuu's appearance at the freshman orientation, Jade attended the orientation as the vice dorm leader of Octavinelle and helped Azul gather information regarding the new Octavinelle first years.[10]

Episode 2

When Riddle, Ace, Deuce, Cater, Grim and Yuu were investigating the string of accidents that occurred with many Magical Shift players, Cater pointed out Jade and Floyd as potential suspects due to how well they work as a team in Magift. While Riddle was musing that the culprit would likely save them for last Floyd noticed Riddle and approached the group. Jade suspected the group were evaluating them as competition for the upcoming tournament and when Cater expressed that the reason for their encounter was a secret Jade insisted on knowing the reason, leading the group to run away from the twins.[11] While Jade and Floyd attempted to chase the group, they ended up giving up due to needing to get Mostro Lounge ready for the night.[12] On the day of the Magift tournament Jade and Floyd were both helping Azul with his work as the head of the planning committee when Floyd asked why Azul chose to have the players enter from the east building with the spectators, which Azul said was a request by one of his clients. Jade connected the requested change with a magic-boosting potion Azul was making the day before and seemed to understand the goal of the two requests while Azul feigned ignorance and Floyd remained in the dark.[13] After the tournament, while Azul was discussing how the dorm should get ready for exam season, Jade came in to report that they received a message from the client requesting to meet up with the trio that night and Azul began to prepare for that meeting.[14]

Ghost Marriage

During the incident where Eliza abducted Idia and attempted to marry him, Jade was called up by Crowley as part of the first group of students sent to propose to the ghost bride under "Operation Propose" due to being over 180cm, allowing him to meet at least one of the ghost bride's conditions.[15] As the first group tried to propose to the bride, Jade went last in the group, watching and commenting on the other student's attempts first. Noting how Leona and Vil seemed to have forgotten the point of the proposals in their competitive nature, and how Vil's singing was so impressive as his voice even blended well with the bride's.[16] Upon learning that her slap froze the students and prevented them from moving for 500 years, Jade was shocked by the ghost's power and mentioned how he'd never heard of a ghost with such a magic. As the rest of the group continued in their endeavor to woo the bride, Jade helped Trey by advising him to sing after he chased her for a little. However, Trey couldn't come up with appealing metaphors for his song causing him to get slapped over how unromantic his song was and Jade criticized Trey's choices for being too normal.[17] When it was Jade's turn to court the bride, he presented her with a flower that she initially found very beautiful until Floyd, annoyed at Jade's apparent success, revealed the flower was a deadly flower Jade had found in the mountains, that Jade did not disprove and even elaborated on how deadly it was. As a result Eliza slapped him for how unsettled she felt over that information and Jade's fascination with how she was not affected by the deadly flower.[18]

When the second group arrive and was subsequently rejected, Azul was in shock over how he'd failed while Jade pointed out that all the things he said didn't line up with his expression.[19] As the frozen students were being rearranged for the wedding, a ghost came in bearing news of Riddle, Ace, Epel, and Rook attempting to break into the wedding. Upon hearing the news Cater tried to bet that Riddle was the one who lost his cool, but Floyd agreed with Cater making Jade comment that it wasn't really much of a bet then.[20] As the ghosts were preparing for the wedding, Jade along with the other frozen students, tired of their inability to move, encouraged Idia to kiss the bride in order to end the whole ordeal, leading to them chanting "kiss" to Idia's dismay.[21] The frozen students then started discussing what would happen to Ignihyde if Idia became a ghost. Due to his lack of vice leader, Jade proposed that Idia keep his position of dorm leader as a ghost.[22] When Ace and eventually Riddle, Epel, and Rook finally arrived at the cafeteria where the wedding was being held they proceeded to tell off Eliza and her ghost servants for enabling her dreams of an ideal prince and forcing Idia to play the role of fiance despite his protests. In response Eliza's friend Chubby used his 500 years of lingering attachment to swell up and attack the four wedding crashers, forcing Yuu to have to log roll the frozen students, including Jade, out of the room in order to keep them out of harms way.[23] Following Eliza's realization that her true love is Chubby she rejected Idia and married Chubby, freeing the trapped students. Upon being freed, Jade complimented Rook for his quick thinking to protect the frozen students, Rook remarked that Jade would do the same in his position, Azul commented that Jade would instead just stand by and watch.[24]
