Apologies for the wait. Please wait here for a moment while Lord Malleus and Master Lilia prepare their costumes.

Haaah-hah-hah! You have done well to come here, humans!
I must praise you for coming to celebrate Diasomnia's Halloween led by the young master himself!

Epel

Sebek, um…really is always eager, isn't he?

Vil

Has Malleus not taught this cucumber proper manners?

I do apologize. Halloween seems to have left him a little rowdier than usual.
|
Sebek
Sebek
|
I am far from rowdy. I have simply spoken the truth!
The moment Lord Malleus and Master Lilia grace us with their presence, you will understand that they are on a completely different level!
|
Malleus
|
Sebek, stop causing trouble for everyone. It is difficult to react to something so obvious, no?
|
Sebek
Sebek
|
Yes, Young Master. Have you finished changing into your attire?
…Ahem. All in attendance, feast your eyes!
Before you, you will now bear witness to our dorm leader, Lord Malleus', self-designed…
Halloween costume!
|
Malleus
Malleus

The theme of our costumes is the "Long."
|
Lilia
Lilia
|
How do I look? Does it not suit me perfectly?
|
Malleus
Malleus
|
Last year, Diasomnia dressed up as traditional ghosts.
But as committee members this year, we thought it might be worth changing our approach.
I designed the costumes with the idea of making them unexpectedly colorful in a way that would easily draw people's attention.
|
Sebek
Sebek
|
Why, yes! Yes, indeed! No one else could suit these costumes as well as they do you!
To have the honor of the young master copying their visage… I'm sure the Long of the world must be crying with joy about now!
|
Epel
Epel
|
You sure you didn't mean yourself, rather than the Long…?
|
Malleus
Malleus
|
Thank you, Sebek.
Ah, of course. I must thank you for the advice you gave me on the design, Schoenheit.

At first, I told him that a dragon such as himself looks so much like a Long that there was no meaning in him dressing up as one, but...
after an hour of being lectured on the fact that, "Dragons and Long are completely different creatures," I gave up. What a waste of time.
|
Malleus
Malleus
|
Long originate from the East. I will not deny they look similar to dragons from their horns, and their tails, and their scales…
but they are a completely different creature to dragons. Their skeletal structure, as well as their absence of wings, makes it more than clear that they are a different race.
What is more, Long are not fae in the strictest sense of the word…
|
Vil
Vil
|
Alright, I understand. I've heard enough of your droning explanations!
|
Lilia
Lilia

Do excuse him. Malleus can get a little passionate over topics sometimes.

He was talkin' so fast I almost thought he was Idia for a second there.

Idia
Idia

You mean the fast speech that's typical of otaku.
|
Kalim
Kalim

Huh? Why phrase it like that? I think it's a good way to speak! Your passion and enjoyment comes across to the other party real clearly!

Such innocence behind your statements is what makes it hurt the most…

…I agree that it looks cool, but I thought our costumes had to be based on ghosts?
We make these costumes to become ghosts that scare even other ghosts, I thought.
|
Malleus
Malleus
|
What are you saying? This is a costume of the ghost of a Long.
|

Huh?

When we first started this stamp rally, the most everyone wore was sheets over their heads.
But then a handful of the students began to get so into it that the costumes ended up becoming more ambitious each year as the dorms started practically competing against one another.
It is not so rare to see ghosts of monsters as the theming of the costumes nowadays.

Doing what one can to keep up with the expectations of the audience is an important part of such an extended show.
The competition between the students has helped give Halloween Week the brush-up it needed.

To put it simply, it is a competition of vanity.

I see. I gotta say…it does kinda fit our school.

Fath—I mean, Lilia designed Ramshackle Dorm after a country he travelled to a long time ago.
|
Lilia
Lilia
|
Indeed. I have traveled to many a country in my lifetime,
but a certain country in the East in particular had many legends of Long remaining!
There were even cases of these Long being treated as the guardian deities of a whole people.
I couldn't help but call that story to mind when Malleus said he wanted to dress up as one!
|
Epel
Epel

That bright red Long is so flashy and cool!
|
Lilia
Lilia
|
Kufufu. Right?
The lanterns, clouds, and Long are all floating with magic. We intend to light the lanterns with magic, as well.
Watching them gently swaying in the wind isn't just cool but also closer to the real thing, right?
|
Vil
Vil
|
You speak as if it's a simple feat, but there seem to be quite a large number of lanterns here.
Having those not just float in the air, but also remain alight, would take an immense amount of magical energy. Honestly, I doubt any other dorm could imitate this.
Given Diasomnia is known for its many students capable at practical application of magic, I should have expected nothing less.

You have incorporated a wealth of knowledge into a venue that you will bring to life with your skilled magic…
Truly, a prime example of a Halloween being held at a Wizarding School befitting of Diasomnia!
Let us move on to the next venue.
Next…Heartslabyul's venue is fairly close. On to the botanical garden.
