S.T.Y.X. (S.T.Y.X., Sutyūkusu) is an organization that is not associated with any particular government or country, and focuses on investigating blots and Overblots in general. In response to this, they have authority on capturing certain overblotted individuals for their investigations, with some meeting a grim fate. They are led by the Shroud family, a branch of the Jupiter family, and their facility, the S.T.Y.X. Laboratory (S.T.Y.X.研究所, Sutyūkusu Kenkyūjo), is located in the Island of Woe. Idia's parents are in charge of the organization.[1]
S.T.Y.X. Technology
- Lethe River - a system can be used for erasing the S.T.Y.X.'s existence from both memory and data.[2] It can also be used to forcibly rewrite a memory within range where there is no discrepancy.[3]
- The Cerberus System - a defense system used to covers security, not just Tartarus, but the entire Land of Woe. It was created by Idia Shroud six years ago.[4]
History
The organization was created around 100 years ago, in an era when the relationship between magic and blot was not known. At the time, overblotting was seen as just a sudden disaster. It was the ancestors of the Jupiter family who sealed the disaster on the Island of Woe and brought peace to the people. It was written that it was an ancestor of the Shroud family who became the guardian so that the disaster would not be released to the world again.[1]

Tartarus
The underground prison, "Tartarus" is the name of the phantom camp that was built in the basement of S.T.Y.X. headquarters. It was built in the "Age of Gods" when the first Shroud family head became the guardian of the Isle of Woe. Most of the powerful phantoms have been housed for over a thousand years without disappearing. Each of the phantoms is housed at S.T.Y.X. are divided into 12 groups according to their level of danger. The deeper the specimens are housed, the higher the risk. The total number of phantom specimens housed more than 100,000.[4]
