Origins

A popular children's story in Twisted Wonderland, "Wish Upon a Star" tells the story of an old toy maker who made a wooden puppet and loved it dearly. He made his wish for it to become a real boy upon the stars sparkling like diamonds above him and to his surprise, his wish came true - the puppet began moving! The old man continued loving the puppet and the two had several adventures along the way as the puppet was tasked to complete the quest given to him by the stars - to learn to distinguish between the good and the bad. Eventually, the puppet was able to fulfill his mission and was turned into a real human boy and they lived happily ever after.

During the course of the story, the puppet befriends the Kind Fox and the Gentle Cat, who would provide valuable advice and assistance to it. They are popular in their own right among the masses of Twisted Wonderland and they each have a statue dedicated to them in Playful Land's Gentle Square.

The Star Sending has people sending their wishes to the stars, just like the old toymaker in the story.[1]

Traditions

The Star Sending happens once a year, and the people of Twisted Wonderland use special magestones called wishing stars that light up when a person makes a wish on them. The wishing stars are then hung from a tree so they can be seen by the stars. Wishing Stars are collected by stargazers who then perform a special dance including drums.

Night Raven College

At NRC, three students are selected as Stargazers based on birthdate.[1]
