You're all horrible! Why do I have to go through this?!
Jack
Jack
Tch. Sure is fast when he needs to run.
Jamil
Jamil
I don't see any more enemies in the area… Okay, Silver, tell the rest of your story!
Silver
Silver
About my time living in the forest? I don't think it's all that exciting, really…
Oh! Jamil… Is this you trying to get to know me like when you asked about the hero?
You're thinking that if we don't get to know each other like this, Jack might not feel like he can trust us, right?
Scarabia Dorm, known for its deep design and forethought… You never cease to amaze with your thoughtfulness today.

Jamil

Look, enough of that, just continue with your story.

I believe I was ten when this happened. Father was away from home for a whole half a year.
I accidentally disobeyed what he had ordered of me, and ended up falling asleep while the dried meat remained hanging on a tree by the fields.
When I woke up the next morning, something had ravaged the meat. Huge claw marks were left in it.
Jack
Jack
Claw marks? Was that…?
Silver
Silver
Yeah. It was a bear.
Having learned the taste of the meat, every day, it would come near our house to dig through our food.
At first, it only came during the night, but as time passed, it started coming earlier and earlier, and became much bolder in the process.
First it broke the fence to the fields, then the shed, and then finally, it started leaving claw marks on the door to my house.

Jamil
Jamil
A threat that you can tell is getting closer every day… Just imagining it is giving me the shivers.
Jack
Jack
And that all happened when you were left home by yourself, right? That's so scary…!
*rustle rustle!*
Jamil
Jamil
What was that sound?!
*rustle rustle!*
Jack
Jack
Ghosts shouldn't be able to make any sound. So if we were to consider other options, don't tell me it's…?!
Jamil
Jamil
A-A bear?!
Jack
Jack
…Oh, wait, crap, sorry. It was just my tail touching the bushes.
Jamil
Jamil
Don't scare me like that!
Silver
Silver
I was scared just as you two are now. I would frequently patrol outside the house, and one day, I finally came face-to-face with that bear.
And then…
Jamil & Jack

And then…?!
Silver
Silver
We became friends.

What?
Silver

It turns out that bear had been searching for food for its cubs.
It was troubled because of how hungry they were. Some bears aren't very good at catching fish, you see.
After that, I took it to the hills where we gathered our fruit, and to the river where we caught our fish, and helped it gather the food it needed.
The bear was very happy, and after that, it would sometimes drop by with its kids.
They were good training partners for me while I was still young, as well.
I hope they're doing well out there…
Jack
Jack
Um… Is this Silver's attempt at making a joke…?
Jamil
Jamil
I get how you feel, Jack. I can't tell what's true and what's not anymore myself.
Jack
Jack
I thought I was going to hear some heroic story about how he chased off some fierce beast…
Jamil
Jamil
But if what he said just now was true, he's definitely managed something much tougher than simply chasing away an animal.
Jack
Jack
Y-You're not wrong…
Jamil
Jamil
This peculiar flow and tempo when having a conversation with Silver always reminds me of Kalim.
Silver
Silver
Really? I'm happy to be compared to such a pleasant man.
He often calls out to me when I end up falling asleep during class… Hm?
Jamil
Jamil
I can hear people talking. It sounds like it's coming from the other side of the shrubbery!
Ghost A
Ghost A
We did it! We found another glass shard!
Ghost B
Ghost B
Shhhh. We'll be in some bother if those living humans from earlier find us!
Ghost A
Ghost A
Y-You're right. We really got dealt a horrible hand there. Ahhh, how frightening. We must be careful…
Jack
Jack
Those two are still searching for the mirror shards…!
Jamil
Jamil
Wait. Do you intend to burst out there on your own again?
You really shocked me earlier. Who just jumps out to confront ghosts without stopping to think first? It's that kind of lack of caution that gets you caught.
Jack
Jack
Ngh, I'm sorry…
Silver
Silver
But didn't you do the same back at the valley, Jamil…?
Jamil
Jamil
…Circumstances were different then, that's all.
Listen, they're scared of us right now.
It'll be difficult for us to chase off a bunch of ghosts with magic at once. If we want to lower their numbers a bit first…
Ghost A
Ghost A
Okay, we've gathered a good number of mirror shards now. With this, we can make our way to the Halloween…
*rustle rustle*
Ghost B
Ghost B
Hm? What was that?
*rustle rustle*
Ghost A
Ghost A
Wh-What?! Is it the living humans from earlier?
Ghost B
Ghost B
But they don't appear to be showing themselves. Something's off here…
*rustle rustle*

BOO!
Ghost A & B
AHHHHHH! IT'S A MONSTER!
Silver
Silver
Alright, we managed to scare them! Let's take them down!
