1st Year Students

Yuu/MC

  • Classmates (1-A)
  • They first met when MC was assigned to clean up the school's main street with Grim.
  • Ace initially found them strange and laughed at them and Grim, as it was the first time he'd seen a person not know the Great Seven. Presently, they are close friends, and hang out together with the other first years (most often Deuce and Grim).
  • When MC and Grim got evicted from Ramshackle in Episode 3, Ace offered them a place to stay at Heartslabyul. He and Deuce also used their own resources and time to come to MC's aid when they sent an SOS from Scarabia.
  • Ace chastised MC whether the latter had any self-preservation after he heard the latter call Malleus "Tsunotaro" (Horned boy).

Grim

  • Classmates (1-A)
  • They first met when Grim and MC were assigned to clean up Main Street.
  • Both tend to bicker with each other the whole time in the game.

Deuce Spade

  • Initially, Ace and Deuce didn't get along with each other very well. Deuce often found Ace too annoying and loud and wished he would take the situations occurring around them more seriously, while Ace found Deuce to be no fun. Through time and progress, Deuce and Ace started to get along with each other better, and form a sense of solidarity. Although Deuce still scolds Ace at occasions for misbehaving, they still get along well and are friendly rivals.
  • From the same hometown, but didn't know each other until they were admitted to NRC.
  • Classmates (1-A) and seat partners (Deuce is No.24, while Ace is 25).

Jack Howl

  • Ace thinks Jack is way too competitive and surprisingly straight-laced, while Jack is of the opinion that Ace could stand to actually make an effort in his actions.
  • Ace, Deuce, and Grim have poked fun at Jack for not being honest in expressing care for his friends.

Epel Felmier

  • Ace initially mistook him for a girl when they met during the student orientation.[1]

Sebek Zigvolt

  • Ace thinks Sebek is a massive stick in the mud, and annoyingly loud.

2nd Year Students

Riddle Rosehearts

  • In the beginning, Riddle and Ace are at odds. Riddle heavily dislikes Ace's disobedience to the rules set by the Queen Of Hearts, while Ace dislikes Riddle's overly strict personality and the unnatural amount of dedication he puts on enforcing the rules. Eventually, the two come to the agreement that the Queen of Hearts rules should be implemented, but not harshly forced into each individual of the dorm members.
  • From the same hometown, but did not know each other.

Ruggie Bucchi

Azul Ashengrotto

Ace has stated that he thinks Azul would make a good older brother, calling him dependable with a "good head on his shoulders and a sharp eye." He places value on Azul's business sense and connections.

Jade Leech

Floyd Leech

  • They're both in the Basketball club.
  • Ace initially admired Floyd's excellent athletic abilities while observing him in club, but soon came to realize that his volatile mood would make him an impossible partner.
  • Still a bit intimidated by him due to the week of grueling labor at Mostro Lounge and being stalked and ambushed by the Leeches in the Coral Sea.

Kalim Al-Asim

Jamil Viper

  • They're both in the Basketball club.
  • Jamil helped Ace and co. polish their dancing in preparation for the VDC team auditions.

Silver

3rd Year Students

Trey Clover

  • From the same hometown, but did not know each other.
  • He often enjoys Trey's sweets as a member of Heartslabyul.
  • Ace called Trey out in Episode 1 for being too lenient with Riddle out of a sense of guilt from their past, much to the latter's chagrin.

Cater Diamond

Leona Kingscholar

Vil Schoenheit

  • In their first encounter, Ace regarded Vil as stuck up and rude, as the Pomefiore dorm leader called him a fresh potato not worth his time.

Rook Hunt

  • Sees him as an eccentric and freeform senior, who is nonetheless powerful.
  • Remarks in Episode 5 that rather than simply supporting Vil, Rook never disagrees with him.

Idia Shroud

Malleus Draconia

  • Ace fears him to some extent, as Malleus ranks among the five most powerful mages of the world.

Lilia Vanrouge

Staff

Dire Crowley

Mozus Trein

Divus Crewel

  • From the same hometown, but did not know each other.
  • Crewel often calls Ace a "bad boy."
