Episode of Scarabia/Chapter 2

The second chapter of Disney Twisted Wonderland The Comic -Episode of Scarabia- and was released in the first volume of the manga. This chapter covers "Cooking with Spice", "A Desert Paradise", and "Warm Hospitality" (Episode 4 Chapter 5-7) from the game.

The second chapter was re-released in G Fantasy Monthly, December 2025 issue on November 18th, 2025.

Summary

Grim and Yuuna spend their first holiday break by placing woods in the fireplace for the fire fairies to feed. Later, they meet Jamil, who follows the smell of food in the kitchen. At first, Jamil asks Grim and Yuuna to join them back at the Scarbaria dorm, with Grim wanting to join in for the food and warm weather, but Yuuna seems suspicious towards Jamil until she suddenly changes her mind and decides to join them. After that, she returned to her senses and did not recall what she had said. Yuuna and Grim join Jamil and the other Scarabia dorm members back to the dorm.

Yuuna holding some wood to put in the fireplace. In Yuuna's inner thoughts, the school is on winter break. Just her and Grim, who has nowhere else to go home to, were asked by the headmage to tend to the fires, but she never could've imagined what happened next.

After that, a few fire fairies appeared before Yuuna and Grim to warm them up. Yuuna recalls what Crowley told them: If they don't bring wood daily, the school will be engulfed in the cold. Suddenly, Grim hears the light rhythm of a knife on a chopping board and the sound of juicy meat being fried with his cat ears. He happily runs to the kitchen where it is coming from and suggests to Yuuna that we let's check it out.

Jamil orders some unnamed dorm members to cook food at the cafeteria's kitchen. Yuuna and Grim have not seen Jamil since the Spelldrive tournament incident. He reintroduces himself as Jamil Viper, vice dorm leader of the Scarbaria dorm. He asks them why they're on campus during break, and they explain that she and Grim have some stuff going on and can't go home, and they've been given an essential role in fire duty. Grim believes he's diligent and capable since the headmage will rely on him. After the dishes are well cooked and prepared, Jamil orders his dorm members to carry them back to their dorms. When Grim comments about the soup since he has never smelled anything like it, Jamil explains that it's a traditional Scalding Sands dish. Since their meeting like this must have been fate, he invites Yuuna and Grim to come to Scarbaria and go with them, which Grim and Yuuna happily accept. Grim asks Jamil why he and the rest of the dorm are all on campus during winter break, which makes a few of the dorm members feel uneasy. The dorm members explained that it was for Scarbaria's dorm leader's orders, and everyone in Scarbaria had to stay here, even if they wanted to leave. Before they could explain further, Jamil shush them for telling Yuuna and Grim any further. He tells them to make haste to Scarbaria before the food gets cold. He adds Scarabia enjoys the warmth of summer all year, and they may enjoy this little taste of the tropics. When Grim excitedly wants to join Jamil and the rest of the dorm members back to their dorm, Yuuna stops him since she is telling him this is super suspicious. When Jamil looks her in the eye by persuading Yuuna to ask if she and Grim come along, the dorm leader would undoubtedly be pleased, and she will come won't she, Yuuna's eyes suddenly become hypnotized and she agreed to join in as well. After what she did, she returned to her senses without recollecting what she just said. Jamil seems pleased to have been able to invite her, the Prefect of Ramshackle Dorm.

Everyone, including Yuuna and Grim, enters the Hall of Mirrors to the Scarabia's Mirror, which transports them to the Scarabia dorm. When Yuuna and Grim first arrive, they are amazed by the dorm scenery, especially how scorching hot this place is, like a desert. Jamil adds that it helps them warm up after the cold before he leads Yuuna and Grim back to the dorm. He summons everyone and orders them to welcome their guests with music. Yuuna and Grim enjoy eating their delicious food and listening to dorm members playing music. As they are having the time of their life, Kalim appeared with a serious look. At first, they thought their dorm leader would punish them for starting the welcoming party without his permission, or letting him know. Still, instead, he blames himself for not preparing an even better feast with a whole musical ensemble. Which suprised Yuuna and Grim. Kalim happily greets Yuuna and Grim to his dorm, introducing himself as Scarabia's dorm leader, Kalim Al-Asim. Jamil reminds him that this is not the first time he has met them. He recalls Grim set Kalim's rear on fire during the opening ceremony. And he spoke with them in the cafeteria before the Spelldrive tournament. Kalim apologizes and said he's not great at remembering faces. He tells them it would be nice to meet them again and hopes they will get along. In Yuuna's inner thoughts, she notices how he's a different type from the other dorm leaders they had met.

Kalim compliments Jamil on how delicious the food is and how everything looks before he asks him how it turns out. Jamil answers by saying that it is the same as always. He may eat at his leisure. It has already been tested for poison. This freaks Grim out and realizes Jamil is just using him and Yuuna to taste-test the food. Jamil explains Kalim is the heir of a wealthy family in the Scalding Sands. More than a few attempts have been made in his life. Kalim reassures them nothing's happended since that one four years ago when he was in a coma for two weeks. Jamil adds because of the incident, he has been taste-testing all of Kalim's food. When Yuuna and Grim were still shocked about Jamil using them as taste testers, Kalim reassured them that Jamil made all the food himself and he was optimistic that Jamil would never poison him. Kalim tells everyone in the dorm members to keep up with the food and drinks and bring the music up a notch, which the dorm members happily obey. With Kalim joining the party, the celebration party has become more lively and fun for Yuuna, Grim, and the other unnamed dorm members. After the welcoming party, he invites Yuuna and Grim to drop by to eat anytime. Yuuna asks Kalim why he and everyone else are all staying here in the dorm, Kalim responds by saying that since they had the spell drive tournament and their final exams, their dorm ranked last. He decides to take action, and the rest of the dorm started doing voluntary special training. Jamil explains they intend to spend six hours daily, every day, studying and doing practical magic training during the break. Grim homework can wait until after the break. This makes Kalim change his mind and let everyone in the dorm return home tomorrow. He will tell them all over dinner tonight, and tells Jamil to ensure everybody shows up, much to Jamil's dismay. Kalim happily tells Yuuna and Grim that he will be glad to show them around Scarabia, and the things he would love to show them. Jamil reminds him that forcing the others to study while he runs off to enjoy himself would set a bad example, which Kalim regretfully apologizes.

The chapter ends with Kalim asking anyone to spar with him for defensive magic training, which the dorm members gladly accept. Unknown to him, Jamil silently displays a gloomy and dark expression.

Differences Between Manga and Game

• Grim does not help Jamil cook the spices like in the rhythm game.
• The scene where unnamed Scarabia dorm members are playing music with instruments during the celebration party never occur in the game.
• There a beast-man was seen as a dorm member of Scarabia, which was never shown in the game. In the game, there are no beastmen as dorm members to appear in Scarabia dorm.
