Episode of Scarabia/Chapter 1

The first chapter of Disney Twisted Wonderland The Comic -Episode of Scarabia- and was released in the first volume of the manga. This chapter covers "Winter Beak Is Here", The Headmage's Cheer", "Leaving for the Holidays", and "A Sendoff from Morays" (Episode 4 Chapter 1-4) from the game.

The first chapter was re-released in G Fantasy Monthly November 2025 issue on October 18th, 2025.

Summary

Yuuna has a vision based on "Aladdin", and recalls her past as a normal high school, and comes from a family of farmers, and how she got transported to Twisted Wonderland. Everyone except Yuuna and Grim are returning home during their winter break the following day.

Meanwhile, Kalim announced to the entire dorm that they would be doing hardcore training and would not be allowed to return home during the holiday break.

Kalim calling Jamil in the middle of the night. Kalim tells him that "his" Scarabia Dorm came in last in the Spelldrive tournament, and they performed poorly in final exams. Kalim orders Jamil to gather their dorm members immediately. There will be no leisurely holidays for slackers. The next scene shows Kalim's eyes in a hypnotized state, with a cruel grin. Jamil is obliged to follow his orders, and he also displays a dark smirk.

Meanwhile in the middle of the night at the Ramshackle dorm, a student named Yuuna Oujo has a vision based on "Aladdin". Jafer orders Gazeem to go to the Cave of Wonders and bring him the lamp.

The following day, Grim impatiently tells Yuuna to hurry up, but she is taking too long. Where is she? She is just finishing her makeup and hair. When she asks him how she looks, he doesn't care.

Yuuna recalls her past three months ago, before she arrived at Twisted Wonderland, where she was used to living peacefully in Japan's Oita Prefecture, and comes from a family of farmers. She helps out with all of that day after day. She dreams to be Gyaru model one day. When she was about to board a train to Tokyo for the second round of tryouts to become a model for gyaru magazines, she was hit by a black carriage in the daytime. By the time she regained consciousness, she had already been transported to another world called Twisted Wonderland. She recalls that she ended up at Night Raven College. A place for select mages. It's the most prestigious training academy in Twisted Wonderland according to the headmage Crowley. She remembers her adventures including befriending the Ramshackle ghosts, attending Un-birthday party and Riddle's Overblotting, the Savanaclaw dorm cheating, and the drama with the scam at Octivinelle. She has been caught up in all of it and her days at school have been wild.

In the present, Yuuna and Grim arrive in time to attend class on the last day of the fall semester. Crewel announces to the class that their holiday vacation starts tomorrow. He is sure they are all pulling at their leads to get home. Every year, there are those who neglect their homework by spending the entire time goofing off. He warns them that there is a severe punishment in wait for any such pups, so keep that in mind.

After class, Ace and Deuce spots Yuuna and Grim, who were admiring the snow. Grim notices Ace and Deuce, who are carrying bags, which they reveal that they are going back home. Ace asks her if the mage is looking for a way back home yet, Yuuna responds by saying that he is still looking, and Grim having doubts he's not trying hard. Deuce informs them that they will be spending the holiday in the dorm. He is sure the cafeteria and school store will close, followed by asking them what they will do for food during the holiday, such as Yuuna and Grim's horrified reactions. He suggested they should check with the manager. Ace adds by mentioning that everyone goes home through the dark mirror and there is a chance the headmage is in the Hall of Mirrors about now. Yuuna, Grim, and Ace and Deuce, hurry to the Hall of Mirror to catch up and find Crowley.

When they arrive, they notice many students are going home before they proceed, of finding Crowley in the crowd. By the time they found Crowley, he was already in his holiday attire in the middle of winter, who instructed students to tell the Dark Mirror their destination, and keep a tight hold on their luggage. Ace and Deuce notice that Crowley is fully ready for a tropical vacation and is not trying to hide how he's ready checked out. When Grim demands answers from Crowley on how he and Yuuna should deal with food during the holiday, Crowley has thought about it the most carefully, but Grim doesn't buy it. Yuuna starts to become suspicious towards Crowley that he isn't looking for a way to send her home. Crowley claims to spend this holiday investigating and visiting a tropical land. He makes excuses by saying that he is taking full advantage of a relaxing vacation and has no intention of doing anything such. Grim impatiently demands Crowley to take him and Yuuna with him, but Crowley refuses since it would spoil his vacation. He claims this investigation will be somewhat dangerous, so he will be heading out alone. He orders Yuuna and Grim to stay on campus to handle a very important job, the very survival of Night Raven College hinges upon it, much of Grim and Yuuna's disappointment. According to Crowley, the fire in the school cafeteria and the furnaces are all provided by fire magic. They have lived in the cafeteria fireplace for many years, but will vanish if they do not supply them with properly dried firewood daily. Should the fire fairies disappear, their campus shall be engulfed in the cold of winter, forevermore. The kitchen ghost takes over fire duty, but his daugther had a baby, so he will return to the other world to see his first grandchild. He would like to ask Yuuna and Grim to take over fire duty, in his place, and should they take on this job, their holiday provisions shall be provided, and he promises a big holiday feast, much to Grim's delight for food. A while, Grim sounds confident about taking the job, but Yuuna doesn't seem sure since they're just letting Crowley get away with everything like they always do. Before Crowley leaves for his vacation, there is something that he would like to present to Yuuna, a smartphone. He says it's just in case of emergency, contact him via that phone, and entrust the rest to them. Crowley leaves as he watches the other students enter the Dark Mirror in orderly fashion.

Yuuna seems happy to get a smartphone since her original phone has been out of range, and Grim is excited, saying he's going to stuff himself to burst with that feast. Ace and Deuce exchange their Magicam IDs with Yuuna. Ace teased and flirted with her that if she gets lonely during the winter holiday, she can always hit him up, but she declined since she is not alone and Grim is here. Ace seems to enjoy her deadpan responses and tells her he was joking. Afterwards, the four of them meet some familiar faces they met from the past three months ago as they went home via Dark Mirror, Ruggie bring leftover foods, he took near its sell by date from the cafeteria and the school store, all of it to give to the neighborhood kids at his homeland, Jack bring his cacti he been raising as a hobby since they'll shrivel if they're not watered during the break, and Leona, only bring his wallet and phone, who isn't interest of doing his homework during his break since their job during the holidays is to take it easy. They encounter Cater, Trey, and Riddle along the way. Cater desperately asks Trey if he can homestay at Trey's place since his older sisters will run him ragged. However, Trey warns him that he and his family will run him ragged since winter is the patisseries' busiest season, most of Cater's disappointment. Riddle, who scolded them to stop to chat in a place since they are in the way. Deuce apologizes for blocking the way. Riddle tells them they should move over to the wall if they wish to continue their conversation. He tells everyone to have a lovely holiday with a depressing mood. When Grim notices Riddle seems down, Ace guessed it has something to do with his mother waiting for him at home. Before Riddle enters the Dark Mirror to return home, Trey tells him to come by the shop to hang out anytime he wants, and Chenya will probably come by since he is forbidden from going to his house. Riddle cheers up a bit, although he has been thinking of trying to speak with his mother, but he doubts she will listen. Suddenly, Floyd sneaks behind Riddle by playfully asking him if he doesn't want to go home and if he should stay at the school together. They also encounter Jade, who explains that Azul Floyd and he do hail from the Coral Sea, but from the northern region. At this time of year, the surface is covered in ice floes, so they return during spring break, after the ice has melted. Riddle firmly refuses to spend the end of the year with Octivinelle. With Riddle and Trey left, Cater takes one last self with Ace, Deuce, Yuuna, and Grim before he returns home. Before the Leech twins return to their dorm, they invite Yuuna and Grim to hang out with them in Octivinelle to play with them, and they will be waiting. Finally, Yuuna and Grim see Ace and Deuce off as they return home, wishing them to have a good holiday and to see them next year.

Meanwhile, Kalim calls all the Scarbaria dorm members to inform them that they will not be given a holiday because they are failures. He warns them to prepare themselves since he is going to work them harder than ever before.

Differences Between Manga and Game

• Yuuna's first vision from "Aladdin" was illustrated portraits instead of old film scenes like in the game.
• During Yuuna's flashback on how she arrived in Twisted Wonderland, she was hit by the black carriage in daytime instead of at night like Yuuken, Yuuka, and Yuuta.
• The students at Night Raven College have no problem being around Yuuna, the only girl in an all-boys' school.
• She recalls her adventures from Heartlabyul to Octivanelle arcs, which display photos she has taken with her friends and events that never occur in the game.
• An extended scene shows Yuuna and Grim witnessing snow for the first time.
• When Riddle mentions his mother, a flashback of her is seen which never occurs in the game.
• Another original scene shows Crowley watching other students entering the Dark Mirror to return home.
• An extended scene shows Kalim gathering all the Scarbaria dorm members by the main entrance. He announces he will train them harder and not allow them to leave for holiday break.

• Yuuna is the only Yuu who is known to wear a skirt.
