Episode of Octavinelle/Chapter 16

The sixteenth chapter of Disney Twisted Wonderland The Comic -Episode of Octavinelle was published along with one chapter from Twiste 4-Koma in Monthly G Fantasy May 2025 issue on April 18th, 2025. This chapter covers the second part of "Back in an Octopus Pot", "Erasing the Past", and the first part of "Scarfing Down Fast" (Episode 3 Chapter 34-36) from the game.

Summary

After Azul reminisces about his past, he regains consciousness inside the Octavinelle dorm.

With a snap of his finger, a contract appears. Azul has completed his unique magic, "Let's Make a Deal". He could never forget those who bullied him. He learned about their weaknesses and insecurities and used those to coerce them to sign his golden contract. They may have gotten something that they wanted- but he got the very things that made them special and took them for himself. He was no longer a slow, clumsy and lonely octopus.

One day, Azul received an invitation to attend Night Raven College. He clutched the envelope, deciding that with this, he would make everyone pay. He began to swim towards the brilliant light of the surface.

Azul awakens to the Leech Twins, Ace, Deuce, Yuuta, Ruggie, Leona, Jack and Grim. They are relieved that he's back to normal now and Leona complains over the ordeal. Azul is unable to recall what happened, and the Leech Twins remind him that he overblotted. Azul is in disbelief, but Ruggie admits that he would be angry too, if all of his efforts were reduced to nothing. Grim proceeds to lecture Azul to reflect on his actions and Jack criticizes him, Ace and Deuce for having been the ones who tried taking the easy way out of things in the first place. They should reflect on that. Yuuta goes on to compliment Azul's notes, pointing out the proof of his efforts when he mentions that Grim normally gets poor marks, and for this exam he got an 80. That's his proof of hard work. Ace and Deuce agree, with Jack admitting that while he doesn't approve of what Azul does, he admires his determination that he put into his studies.

Azul attempts to brush off their attempts at rebuilding his self-worth. The Leech Twins tease him and Azul tells them off, only for the group to reveal the picture he told them to get. The sun hasn't set yet, therefore, it is their victory. Before Azul can accept the picture from Jack, Leona swipes it out of curiosity. He doesn't see any sort of value from it- it's just a class photo from a field trip. The twins point themselves out in the photo, but when everyone spots Azul they are stunned silent. Azul goes berserk and tries desperately to get them to stop looking but Jade holds him back. The guys are surprised, while Yuuta remarks on how round and cute he looked. Leona bursts into laughter. But Deuce is willing to overlook the entire thing and tries comforting Azul as he can relate to having a past he wants to move on from.

Azul expresses that he tried so hard to get rid of his past self. He made so many deals to get every single photo from that day, but the one at the museum he was unable to get to. Floyd remarks that he liked the old Azul better, because he looked worth eating back then. Azul snaps at him and Yuuta hands over the photo. He believes it isn't worth getting worked up over, because it meant that he was getting fed well. He grew up eating his dad's cooking. It tasted so good, he really wishes that he could have some now. Seeing the joy brought to Yuuta causes Azul to recall how happily he used to eat back at home when he was younger.

More than anything, Azul wishes that he could crawl into an octopus pot to hide. Something appears to don on Yuuta, causing Azul to quickly try to put distance between them. Jack goes on to bring up the contract again, but it was turned into sand before they could actually deliver the picture. Azul's never been a rule-breaker, either, so the only responsible thing to do now is to put the picture back. Yuuta suggests that they do it together and after taking a moment to think it over, Azul agrees. But he'd rather swap it with one he's altered first.

Seeing the light-hearted mood some of the guys take on discussing the museum trip causes Azul to calm down and regain his composure. He stands up to join everyone after Yuuta offers to make him a meal to bring along, and he remarks that he has a specific taste.

• At the end of Azul's dream, where merfolk Azul reaches the light in the ocean, is a reference from The Little Mermaid. Ariel sang about her dreams of leaving her ocean world behind and becoming a human to be with Prince Eric from "Part of Your World".
