Episode of Octavinelle/Chapter 15

The fifteenth chapter of Disney Twisted Wonderland The Comic -Episode of Octavinelle was published along with one chapter from Twiste 4-Koma in Monthly G Fantasy March 2025 issue on February 18th, 2025. This chapter covers the first part of "Back in an Octopus Pot" (Episode 3 Chapter 34) from the game.

Summary

This chapter flashes back to Azul's childhood, where he was bullied by his appearance from the other merfolks and met the Leech twins.

Azul recalls his cold past as a young merfolk in the Coral Sea. In his inner thoughts, the only place where he belonged was the inside of an octopus pot.

He was made fun of and prejudiced against his octopus traits among the merfolk. These results made him insecure about his weight and distrust everyone. Azul says he is unlike other mermaids; his legs are covered in suction cups. He is withdrawn and cannot speak clearly. He is terrible at both studying and sports. He is always all alone, a slow, inept, and calls himself a stupid octopus. He overheard his classmates talking behind his back and mocking him, which he decided to isolate himself from anyone. He decided to use his weakness to his advantage for his work. He uses his 10 limbs to carry out multiple tasks, to produce his ink for magic signals and writing. He vows to get revenge for the merfolks who mocked him by putting their blissfully ignorant in their place.

Azul encounters twin eel merfolk, Floyd and Jade, who seem interested in him. They wonder around the young Azul's workplace. Azul tells the twins that he will keep studying, and become powerful just like the Sea Witch. Floyd swims into Azul's hidden workshop where he kept touching Azul's things and call them junk. The young Azul kicked the twins out of his workplace.

Throught the years he spend time on studying, and working out to get in shape. In his jjunior school years, Azul reunited with the twins again, where they heard he grant wishes on someone to loses weight and got a girlfriend in exchange they were left with a hoarse voice in place of the tenor they'd been proud of. They heard another mermaid got troubled with their unkempt hair, and it turned into silky smooth, beautiful blond locks in return, they lost the big fin that made them swim fast. The mid-teen Jade asked Azul if this was all been his doing, Azul responded with a devilish grin. Azul comments on how he can't believe he have already been found out. The twins grin back at him.

Differences Between Manga and Game

• Azul does not narrate his past while in his dorm uniform, as he did in the game.
• In the manga, Azul, Jade, and Floyd's childhood selves since in Azul's flashback are fully shown. In the game, Jade and Floyd's childhood selves only appeared as silhouettes. Also, in middle school, Leech twins and Azul are shown to be slightly losing weight.
• Azul's childhood past has been extended.
  • The three merfolks bullied the young Azul by pulling and grabing his tentacles.
  • It shows the young Azul working hard on his studies, making potions, and lifting weights in order to lose a lot of weight.
